101 Academy 2024 - Head coach

We are looking for new staff to join the 101Family and deliver at the summer 2024 Academy across the country. The main aim of the role is to head up the running of the academy centre over the 10 weeks. You can find out more about the academies by clicking the link here.

Each Academy centre will look to include the following staff (number of staff is dependant on the number of players that sign up):

  • 1x Head coach

  • 3x Coaches

  • 1x Development Coach

  • 1x GK coach

  • 1x Manager

We are looking for experienced and inspirational head coaches to run sessions which provide high levels of challenge and support for the young athletes involved in the academies.

The head coach will be responsible for the delivery of the programme, supporting the coaches and staff at the centre and inspiring them to develop as coaches. To do this the head coach must have experience of junior or senior performance programmes and have a history of talent development.

This is an exciting opportunity and is one which will be highly supported by Mike and the support staff at Sport101.

Job description:

  • Ensure high levels of detail in the delivery of the sessions in all aspects

  • Help in the creation of a culture of excellence within the staff and players

  • Provide feedback to players during the session & after where required

  • Be creative and inspiring in the delivery of your centre

  • Provide sound technical and tactical feedback during the sessions

  • Ensure the session plan & programme is bespoke to the session

  • Ensure all staff know what they are delivering ahead of the session

  • Support in any additional administrative tasks during the session

  • Help with first aid if required during the session

  • Attend all 10 sessions during the summer + the academy day

  • Help in promoting the academies in the build up to ensure a high level of enrolment

  • Provide feedback to Mike regarding the running of the sessions

  • Be an ambassador for Sport101 and represent in a positive, professional manner

Requirements:

  • Safeguarding certificate

  • First aid certificate

  • EH level 1 coaching award (or equivalent but higher would be preferred)

  • Experience of working in performance environments. and have an understand of what it takes to be a high level athlete

  • Have a good technical understanding for skill development

  • Be proactive and organised

  • Be able to work as part of a team

  • Have a positive mindset

  • Have a desire to learn and grow as a coach

Rate: £75 per session + £150 for the academy day

Days: Various across the year (see calendars below for full programme)
