101ACADEMY

We deliver 10 week long hockey programmes at various points in the year. Each session is 1.5 hours long plus some addition bits which we know you will love!

At the academies you will get to experience and develop EVERY aspect of your game with leading coaches and specialists from the UK.

The programme is split into 3 blocks

• BLOCK 1: PRINCIPLES OF HOCKEY

• BLOCK 2: TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT

• BLOCK 3: GAME UNDERSTANDING

As part of the 10 week academies in 2024 we will return to the incredible Nottingham Hockey Centre for our Academy Day!

The academy day is where all of the centres from across the country come to play and train together in a unique environment like no other.

This is the highlight of the summer programme and gives a great opportunity for the 101Family to be together in one place.

We work with some of the top goalkeeper coaches in the country and deliver a specialist goalkeeper programme as part of the academy.

Goalkeepers get an amazing blend of both separate specialist goalkeeper coaching from our specialist coaches and being integrated in to the sessions with the outfield players to create a complete experience unlike any other.

At the academies we go the extra mile and include additional specialist sessions and support to help in your development. The academy is about YOU and this is at the core of our values.

These include:

• Personalised playing shirt or goalkeeper smock

• Additional off pitch support and information

• Connect with coaches both during the sessions and away from them if required.

• Use of SPOND to provide regular communications throughout the academies.

Andy Gibson AKA “Gibbo”, was one of our coaches and a close friend who sadly passed away in 2021. Gibbo embodied what 101 stands for and hosted the podcast with Mike and Tess as well as headed up academy centres and ran coaches clubs.He was a truly talented coach who made a huge difference to so many who had the pleasure of working with him both on and off the pitch.

A foundation charity has been set up in his name and will be looking to provide opportunities for people across the country to pursue their passions in Hockey. We at Sport101 will be working with the foundation to support it however we can. We will be providing more information on this and how we will be supporting the foundation soon.
